Wicking

Wicking refers to the process where stains or dirt that are deep within the carpet fibers rise to the surface after cleaning. This occurs when the carpet dries and moisture brings the underlying dirt to the surface. Wicking is a common issue in carpets with heavy soiling or liquid spills that have penetrated deep into the fibers. To address wicking, thorough and repeated cleaning may be necessary to remove all traces of dirt and stains from both the surface and deeper layers of the carpet.
